Listed below are some of the commonly sought after species of fish we catch.

Please Note: Gulf Life Charters follows all of the FWC state and federal regulated policies. This means that we may have to throw fish back if they are too small or out of season. There is no exception!

In The Bay

  • Red Drum/Red Fish:    Not less than 18" or more than 27"  - 2 per harvester per day - vessel limit of 8

  • Speckled Trout:   Not less than 15" or more than 20" - 5 per harvester per day

  • Flounder:  Minimum of 12" - 10 per harvester per day

  • Spanish Mackerel: 12" fork length - 15 per harvester per day

  • Black Drum: Not less than 14" or more than 24" - 5 per harvester per day

  • Sheepshead: Minimum of 12" - 15 per harvester per day

  • Cobia: ​33" fork length - 1 per harvester - 6 max per vessel


BOTTOM FISHING/REEF SPECIES:

  • Gray Trigger Fish: 14" fork length - 2 per harvester (Season Closed June 1–July 31)

  • Red Snapper: 16"  - 2 per harvester (Open Sats and Suns starting May 7. Opens continuously May 28 -July 10)

  • Grouper: Varies by species but Captain Jesse will have all of that information on the vessel.

  • Amberjack:  14" -  22" fork length - 5 per person or 1 @ 34" fork length or larger 

  • Lane Snapper: 8" - less than 100 pounds


BLUE WATER/TROLLING SPECIES:

  • Mahi Mahi/Dorado: No Limits

  • Wahoo: No size requirements - 2 per harvester

  • King Mackerel: Minimum 24" fork length - 2 per harvester

  • Triple Tail: 15" - 2 per harvester

  • Blackfin Tuna: Limit of 2 or 100 pounds, whichever is greater

  • Marlin*: For the safety of everyone on the vessel we will not land these fish.

  • Sailfish*: For the safety of everyone on the vessel we will not land these fish.

  • Swordfish*: For the safety of everyone on the vessel we will not land these fish.


SHARK SPECIES:

  • Bull Shark*: For the safety of everyone on the vessel we will not land these fish.

  • Mako*: For the safety of everyone on the vessel we will not land these fish.

  • Hammerhead*: For the safety of everyone on the vessel we will not land these fish.
